The Eye-Opening Benefits of Being One Tenth Faster

The Eye-Opening Benefits of Being One Tenth Faster

Lorenzo Styles, an NFL draft prospect, just set the all time record for the fastest 40 yard dash at his position.

Working with his trainer, USR founder Les Spellman, Styles ran his best ever sprint at just the right time.

That 4.2 second 40 yard run raised his status in the draft, perhaps earning him millions of additional dollars on his rookie contract alone.

Despite others at his position, safety, running a 4.3, all the buzz surrounded Styles and his historic time.

Why is 0.1 second such a big deal?

This seemingly insignificant difference equates to a 2 foot edge for every 10 yards you run.

It's enough to win a larger share of 50/50 balls, or pucks.

It's enough to gain separation from a defender on longer sprints.

And it's enough to recover from being slightly faked out as a defender, closing momentary gaps your opponent creates.

Situations like these don't just decide wins and losses in pro football, they make the difference in all sports, at all levels.

But the benefits don't end there.

Achieving faster speeds means your body adapted to achieve greater power, bounce, and coordination.

Those physical gains raise your game in a variety of other ways, beyond just pure speed.

Taken altogether, you're highly likely to achieve greater success in your sport.

Which, in time, provides you with a psychological advantage, too.

Because you know you'll get to that loose ball, blow by a defender, or lock down tougher opponents when a key moment comes up.

We are obsessive about that 0.1 second gain with our Speed School athletes.

The snow is melting fast, putting us on the cusp of outdoor sprint season.

Much like Lorenzo Styles and all the other NFL draft prospects, our kids have been putting in excellent work all winter, hoping to shave 0.1 second or more off their outdoor sprint times.

And when they do, their game will rise to another level.
