ATHLETE BLOG LEOMINSTER
Back in the 1990's it was rare for a pro or college sports team to have even one strength coach.
Nearly everything was about the sport itself.
Today, elite teams have a staff of strength coaches, speed coaches, nutritionists, massage therapists, sports psychologists and more.
The off-field side of the equation has become highly valued.
This has trickled down to the youth level, where it is becoming increasingly difficult for kids who just play their sport to keep up with those who are training outside their sport, too.
Around the country in all major cities, including Boston, there are all-inclusive training options for athletes and their parents who want to get an edge on the competition.
Starting December 1st, we will be bringing this same type of training option to you.
Athletes ages 14 and up who are taking a full season off from sports are ideally suited to get the most from this program.
It includes all of the following:
A 4 day per week membership in our gym, following custom program design as always.
A customized nutrition plan developed with a registered sports nutritionist. We have partnered with one of the best in our area. She will work with you to outline an eating plan to meet your goals, then we will work with you to ensure you stay on track for the rest of the program.
Advanced testing & tracking protocols that analyze sprint mechanics, strength and coordination needs. This is in addition to the Functional Movement Screen and monthly performance testing we do with everyone.
One private, 30 minute speed session per month so we can analyze your technique and create customizable training to help you improve.
Customized 'mini workouts' to do at home. Based on your needs this time could be spent on flexibility, strength, speed, or injury prevention. They're designed to accelerate your progress on a sticking point so we can improve more rapidly with our main workouts.
Goal setting & mindset coaching, an often overlooked but critical aspect to getting the most out of every session, and to perform at your best in competition.
Recovery & regeneration strategies that you'll need to continue performing at your peak throughout the season.
Due to all of the services included here, it is of course going to be a higher cost than our other options.
We have, however, intentionally kept it far more affordable than similar programs in other parts of the state.
Of course this is not for everyone.
You'll have to dedicate about the same amount of time to training as you would if you played a sport, roughly 6-8 hours per week.
You'll have to commit to this for 3 months.
You have to be at least 14 years old.
And naturally, you'll have to be willing to put in the effort required to see rapid progress.
But if this does sound like a fit, you are going to receive comprehensive strategies proven to get the absolute best results possible.
A program like this also serves as a kind of turbo boost to your future results, too. Because what you learn in this program will enhance all the training you do in the future.
In essence, it is a masters-level course for sports performance training.
